What should you wear for an outdoor activity? Wear layers you can get wet or muddy, and bring a dry set of clothes for afterwards.

For water activities
Wear a swimsuit under old clothes, and bring a towel and a full change. Providers usually supply wetsuits, helmets and buoyancy aids. Tie long hair back and leave jewellery at home.
For land activities
Wear sturdy shoes that can get dirty, and trousers you can move in. A waterproof jacket helps even on a dry day. Many providers ask for closed shoes, so check the list they send you.
For air activities
Wear comfortable layers, because it can be cooler up high. Avoid loose scarves and dangling bags. Ask the provider about footwear, as some require flat, laced shoes.
Bring a few small things
Water, a snack and a bag for wet kit are enough for most days. Leave valuables in the car or at home, and ask the provider about phones and cameras.
