How do you choose a good activity provider? Look for clear information, proper safety answers and a quick, honest reply to your questions.
A provider can look good online and still be a poor fit for your group. A short list of questions helps you tell the difference.
What to check on their website
See whether the activities, the location and the group sizes are clear. Look for age limits, what is included and how to contact them.
Questions to ask
- What is the largest group you take, and how will you split us up?
- What qualifications do your instructors hold?
- What happens if the weather is bad?
- What is included in the price?
- What are the cancellation terms?
Safety and licences
Some activities involving young people need a licence. Ask the provider what applies, and check the official guidance on GOV.UK if you are unsure.
How they communicate
A good provider replies quickly and answers the question you asked. Slow or vague answers before you book often mean the same on the day.
Laird Events lists providers and checks their website details. That is not a safety guarantee, so please ask your own questions too. You can read how we choose providers.
