Planning a group adventure weekend

How to plan two days of activities with an overnight stay, without overloading the group. Use it alongside the directory, then ask us if you would like help planning the day.

How do you plan a group adventure weekend? Pick a base, plan one big activity and one gentle one, and leave time to rest.

A weekend lets a group relax and bond, but it needs more planning than a single day.

Choose a base

Pick a region that suits most of your group’s travel. See our locations for ideas. Check how far each activity is from where you will stay.

Plan the pace

Put the big activity on day one while everyone is fresh. Keep day two gentler, because legs will be tired.

Sort food and rooms early

Ask whether accommodation and meals are included. Many adventure centres can recommend places to stay. Book beds early in summer.

Plan for weather

Have a back-up for both days. Ask each provider what they do in poor weather.

Share the plan

Send a simple timetable, a kit list and the meeting point a week ahead.

Want help planning it

Tell us your group, date and budget and we will help you shortlist and plan the day.
