How do you plan a corporate adventure day? Start with the goal, then pick the activity, set the budget and book early.
Planning a day for colleagues is easier when you take it in order. Each step below takes less time than it sounds.
Decide what the day is for
A new team might want to get to know each other. A busy team might want a break. A leadership group might want to plan. The goal decides the activity, so write it down first.
Ask the team
Send a short poll with three or four options. Include one active choice and one calmer choice, so everyone feels they can take part. Ask about access needs and dietary needs at the same time.
Set a budget per head
Work out what you can spend for each person, then ask providers what that covers. Food, a facilitator and kit hire are often extra. Our guide on how much a corporate day costs lists what to ask.
Shortlist two or three providers
Use the directory to compare, then ask each one for a quote. Compare like with like. Our guide on comparing quotes shows how.
Book, then plan the details
Once you have a date, confirm travel, parking, food and a wet weather plan in writing. Send people a short note a week before telling them what to wear and bring.
