On the Water
Follow a river through a gorge on foot and by swimming, scrambling and jumping with a guide. Gorge walking means travelling up or down a river, in the water. You wade, swim, scramble over rocks and slide or jump into pools, led by a guide.
Canyoning goes a step further, with abseils down waterfalls. Ask about the minimum age, what the water level is like after rain, and whether wetsuits and helmets are included.
Adventurous adults, families with older children, and groups. You should be happy in cold water and comfortable swimming.
May to September, when the water is at its warmest.
