On the Water
Kayaking
Paddle a kayak on a river, lake or the sea, alone or on a guided trip. A kayak is a small boat that you sit in and paddle with a double-bladed paddle. Calm lakes and slow rivers are the easiest place to start.
Guided trips cover the basics first, then take you somewhere good. Sea kayaking is a step up and needs a guide, because tides and wind change the day quickly.
