What to bring on a skydive day

A short list of what to wear, what to bring and what to leave in the car on a skydive day. Use it alongside the directory, then ask us if you would like help planning the day.

What should you bring on a skydive day? Comfortable clothes, flat laced shoes, your booking details and something to do while you wait.

This guide gives general information only. Always follow your provider’s instructions and kit list.

What to wear

Wear comfortable, loose clothes you can move in, such as a tracksuit or leggings with a top. Your provider normally gives you a jumpsuit and goggles over the top. It can be cold at height, so a thin layer under your clothes helps.

Shoes

Wear trainers with laces, tied firmly. Avoid sandals, boots with hooks, high heels and slip on shoes, because they can come off or catch.

What to bring

  • Photo ID and your booking confirmation
  • Any medical information you were asked to bring
  • Water and a snack, but keep lunch light before you jump
  • A charger or a book, because there is often waiting time
  • Cash or a card for photos and video, if you want them

What to leave behind

  • Loose jewellery, scarves and anything that can come off in the air
  • Valuables you don’t need, as most centres have lockers or a safe place
  • Large bags, which may not be allowed on the airfield

Plan for waiting

Skydiving depends on wind and cloud, so a day can include a lot of waiting. Bring a layer for the airfield and be ready to rebook if the weather doesn’t clear. See our guide to weather and cancellations.

In short:

  • Loose comfortable clothes and laced trainers
  • Photo ID, water and something for the wait
  • Leave jewellery and valuables behind
